Dangerous driving
About this charge
Dangerous operation under section 320.13 requires the Crown to prove a marked departure from the standard of a reasonable driver, a materially higher threshold than provincial careless driving. It is a hybrid offence carrying up to ten years' imprisonment, rising to fourteen where bodily harm results and to life where death results, and a conviction brings a driving prohibition and a criminal record.
