Provincial Traffic Offences

About this charge

At fifty or more over, the fine climbs steeply and the charge carries six demerit points. That is enough, on its own, to put a graduated-licence driver near suspension and to move a fully licensed driver a long way toward it. Insurers treat excessive-speed convictions as a serious event, and the premium consequence over three years routinely dwarfs the fine.

How we defend it

  • Close scrutiny of the evidence and the manner of speed measurement
  • A reduction in the recorded speed can change both the fine and the point count
  • Assess suspension exposure against your existing abstract
